It is found  mainly in the lowlands,  dry  woodland,  tropical and subtropical scrublands, and  savannas, palm groves

It is a very social bird and is often found in groups of more than 50 individuals.

This soecies of Parrotlet is very difficult to classify. There may be as many as 6 subspecies, and it has been re-classified
many times over the last 2 decades. It is never very clear what these Parrotlets should be called.
